Anonymous asked: I am looking for an add-on to Basecamp that will allow users to collaborate on documents such as Word, Exel, etc. in a way that allows only one copy to be checked out at a time (ala Sharepoint, etc.) Does cloudHQ allow us to do that? Thanks.

5 Reasons You Should Replicate Your Google Docs to...
You may be thinking to yourself, “Why should I backup Google Docs when it’s remotely hosted by Google?” It’s true that Google probably has some of the biggest and most secure servers on the planet, backed by billions of dollars, and maintained by hundreds of Googlers. The work documents you store on your Google Docs account are safe and hosted on the cloud, what could go wrong? This, apparently,...

When you hear the word ‘computer’, your mind conjures images of the desktop PC back home or the laptop you use at work. People you know and those you come across will probably think the same way, but here at cloudHQ, we think differently.   All the way back in the 1990s we had a vision – the vision of a ‘liquid’ computer (the term ‘cloud computing’ didn’t exist, so we used the term...

Google Docs and Data Loss – It’s More Likely Than...
Google Docs is the most popular web application to create and store documents online today. Since your documents are stored on Google’s cloud servers, your data is mostly protected from the dangers of hard disk failure, sudden power outages or surges and natural disasters that happen in your area. For that reason, most users feel confident about the security of their files. However, studies show...

Here is one more  reason why should continuously synchronize your Google Docs with Dropbox… We don’t think it is smart to stop using Google and migrate to some other service since other services probably can make the same mistake. The best approach is to continuously synchronize all documents you have in Google Docs with Dropbox: your data is in one more cloud service and it is also...

Why Should You Backup Your Google Docs Files?
Why should I keep a backup of my Google Docs documents? They’re stored on Google’s cloud servers so they’re completely safe, right? Even if my computer breaks down due to power outage, disk failure or natural disasters, my documents will still be on the Google servers safe and sound. While these statements may be true in most cases, data loss is not limited to computer failure or disasters. ...

Less than 5% of accounts are experiencing slow synchronization when a new file is added: it takes more than 20 minutes (up to 4 hours depending on size of the account) to synch a newly added file. We have identified a problem and we are working on a fix. Please email us at support@cloudHQ.net if you have any questions.

We are developing improved synchronization which have more options (manual synchronization, different options for file conversion), better conflict resolution (read only files, deleted files, etc.),  synchronizations can be reverted (like TimeMachine), and better control and monitoring of synchronization. If you want to participate in testing of these new features please email us at...
